GIRL!!!
Corey and I are so excited about having a girl!! The ultrasound was amazing and such an awesome experience. I wish I could get an ultrasound every month until she arrives. Our little girl weighs 11 oz and is in the 42nd percentile. The doctor said everything looks perfect. I don’t think I’ve felt her yet, but I’m patiently waiting!! :-)
We go back in 4 weeks for another check up.

Gosh, it seems like forever since I last wrote on my blog. I’ve really enjoyed having this as a ‘diary’ to go back and see where I was 6 months ago and how far we’ve come!
It’s taken Corey and I awhile to let the news of the baby set in. We were so afraid something bad was going to happen that we didn’t allow ourselves to really believe we were pregnant until our second visit with our regular OB.
We had our first OB visit December 11th and that appointment was just to review my histories and for the doctor to tell me the dos and don’ts of pregnancy. So, pretty uneventful. I was a little bummed that we didn’t get an ultrasound or at least get to hear the heartbeat during our appointment. I suppose I can’t have everything :-)
We scheduled our next appointment for January 8th and were told we’d find the heartbeat on the doppler during that visit. YAY!!!
We were so used to hearing the heartbeat and getting an update on our baby every week or every other, the long wait in between appointments can cause a girl to go crazy! My mind was racing in all different directions, but at our appointment on January 8th we heard the heartbeat right away! It was such a relief. Both Corey and I said that was the day we finally let ourselves really believe that we were pregnant and in the clear! Since that appointment we’ve enjoyed looking (but not buying) baby gear, clothing, furniture etc.
We told both sides of our family around Christmas and our close friends around the same time. We announced our growing family through Christmas cards, which I think turned out really cute!
Over the course of the last two months, I have battled severe headaches. I think I went on a stretch of having a headache for six weeks straight. It was brutal. Unfortunately there wasn’t a whole lot my doctor could do for me. He said it’s just part of pregnancy and soon enough my hormones would settle down. When I hit 15 weeks, it was like my hormones flipped and I haven’t had a headache since! Such a relief.
Our next appointment is February 10th! We are sooo excited for this appointment. It will be our 19.5 week appointment, which is when they do the anatomy ultrasound. We haven’t seen our baby since 9 weeks, so I’m sure it will look totally different and resemble an actual human! We’ve decided to find out the sex of the baby! I can’t wait! The anticipation has been killing me. I’m ready to buy clothes and decorate the baby room!!

Two weeks have passed and we saw our little peanut today!! The last two weeks have been a little difficult, I started getting severe headaches and feeling very fatigued/nauseous in the late afternoons. It seems to hit around 4pm every day.
The headaches have been the worst, but on the bright side I take 1-2 naps every day and I don’t feel guilty about it!! :-)
Our appointment today was our last at the fertility clinic. :-( We received great news about baby A, but baby B has stopped growing and there is no longer a heartbeat. We still saw some tissue from baby B, but our ultrasound tech said that should disappear in a week or two. We knew this would be the outcome, but it’s still hard to see on the ultrasound screen. We are very thankful that we have one thriving baby and we’re counting our blessings!
Baby A is measuring 9 weeks 1 day, which is right on track and the heartbeat was 170 bpm.
We have decided not to do the early genetic testing, due to baby B still being present. We were told we’d get testing done between weeks 11-13 and if anything came back abnormal, we could opt for the genetic screening at that time. So that is our plan moving forward!
Our next appointment is December 11th at our regular OBGYN office. I’m nervous to make this move. We’ve been heavily watched over the last few months and I don’t want to go back to being just another patient. However, I knew this was coming and on a positive note it means we are pregnant and everything is looking good.
Corey and I have so much to be thankful for this year! This past year has been the hardest year yet, but we think this next year will be our best yet!! We both feel this journey has brought us closer and made us appreciate the small things in life. Sometimes we get caught up in our daily lives and forget how far we’ve come! We’re ended our fertility journey feeling blessed, hopeful, and very appreciative!

During our 2nd ultrasound we received really great news about baby A, but sad news about baby B.
I’ll start with baby B. Baby B has not caught up to baby A, but rather continued to fall behind. During the ultrasound, it measured 8 days behind. Both the US tech and our NP said the chances of it being viable is slim to none. Corey and I were pretty bummed to hear this news, but we know God has a plan.

Baby A is still growing and measuring 7w1d. The baby’s heart rate was 150 bpm.

I still have several cysts, but they continue to decrease in size. I think the largest one I have now is 2 cm. Great news!
Our next appointment will be around the 9 week mark. We’ve always known we wanted to do the early genetic testing, which can be done around the 9-10 week mark. However, due to the complications with Baby B we’ve been advised not to do this testing because we could receive false results. Our nurse practitioner, Suzie said baby B could skew our results. So our next US will determine if we can do this test, it will depend if baby B is still present. If that is the case, we’ll wait until the 20 week appointment to get more detailed information about baby A.
The pregnancy seems very surreal to us. I haven’t been sick at all, just hungry! I’d kill to have a Mr. Goodcents deli sandwich right now, but that will have to wait 7-8 more months. :-)
Next up, we’ll have another ultrasound on Dec. 1st.
